    The flake was made of wattles and thatched outside with straw.
    The floors weremade of clay and occasionally a handful of lime was scattered upon it to keep nasty odours away. Formerly half doors were very common but now they are very rare. Turf or wood was always used as fire wood. The oldest style of providing light was-: rush candles, rozin candles, tallow candles, and finally the every common parifin oil lamps.
