    About ten years ago Patrick Gilbride aged sixty years of Ganvagh, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim, walked to the city of Dublin in thirty six hours. After spending a night in Dublin he returned home and a commercial traveller who was driving a motor van passed him in the midlands of Ireland.
