    2. St Cuan's well is on the Mahon Estate at Weston There is a poplar tree growing beside the well. Long ago people used leave a piece of string after them at the well. The string may be seen hanging from the polar tree over the well.
    Once there was a scarcity of water and the Mahons drew water from that well to boil for pigs They only laughed when people said it was not right. But they could not boil the water.
    3. There is a holy well in Athenry. People go there every year on the 15th of August. People as not use the water because it does not boil. There are bushes growing around the well. There is a statue of the Blessed Virgin there. People as fifteen rounds when they go there.
