  1. Some years ago a man and his wife were churning. When they were a short time started a little fairy woman ([?]) came in. This woman asked for some flour. The woman refused to give her any so the fairy went out again.
When they were finished churning the woman of the house left the churn-staff out on a bush near the door to dry. She came in again to lift the butter from the churn but she found that it was gone.
After a while the fairy returned again and asked for more flour. The woman gave her some and she thanked her and disappeared. This woman never returned again.
