  1. A river runs through Meenamallagh which is called Meenamallagh river. It rises below a hill which is called Baim. In this river there is a hole which is called "Poll Mór" or the "Big Hole".
Long ago a race of people were living in Meenamallagh whose name we cannot remember. But it is said that fairies were seen dancing around it, and nobody has ever seen them since.
Meenamallagh lies west on the way to Carndonagh.
