Then the cloth was tied tightly round the boil.(4) A Cold.The cure for a cold was a cup of buttermilk boiled with sugar in it.(5) Blood Poison.The cure for blood poison was a poultice of linseed weal boiled and then put on as hot as it could be borne.(6) Earache. The cure was a piece of wool in the ear.
