    In Autumn when the blackberries are ripe the children amuse themselves by blackberry picking. On a fine day they have a pic-nic.
    When children are at school they amuse themselves by skipping or by playing high windows, hide-and-go-seek, spy, lemonade, or blindman's-buff, in Summer.
    In Winter when the snow and ice are on the ground we amuse ourselves by throwing snowballs at each other or making snow-men and sliding on the ice.
