  1. (continued from previous page)
They began to bumbug and gibe her,
To the churchyard she walked with the legs in a box,
Saying, - "the cow she'll he hanged for the piper".
    12. The cow was driven a mile or two off,
To the place called "the fair of Leckleana".
Where the creature was sold, for four guineas in gold
To the clerk of the parish - John Daly.
    13. To the tent then we went, the luck-penny to spend
For the clerk was a jovial old swiper,
Who the devil was there playing "The Lakes of Kildare"
But my bold Dinny Byrne - the piper.
    14. Tim gave a jump like a half-broken colt,
To the piper, he gave a look like a "Gomach"
Said he "By the power, I thought these eight hours
You were playing in "Druimpionn Dubh's stomach".
    16. When Cavanagh heard how the Hessian was served
He wished 'old nick' luck of the viper.
Both Daly and Tim then stood Dinny a treat
And then danced a jig round the piper.
