  1. Local Fairs.
    The Local Fairs are held in Cootehill, Cavan, Bailieborough, Ballybay, Shercock, Tullyvin and Muff.
    The fair of Cootehill is held on the third friday of the month.
    The fair of Cavan is held on the second Tuesday of the month.
    The fair of Bailieborough is held on the first Monday. The fair of Ballybay is held on the second Saturday of the month.
    The second Wednesday of the month is the fair of Shercock.
    The fair of Tullyvin is held anually on the fourth of May, if the fourth falls on Sunday the fair is held on Monday. Tullyvin is not a town it is a small Hamlet, it is situated nine miles from Cavan town. In olden times there were tents in Tullyvin and after the fair all the boys, and girls gathered into these tents, and danced and sang until mid-night.
    Muff fair is held anually on the twelfth day of August.
