    1/ It is considered unlucky to see one magpie but lucky to see two
    2/ It is unlucky to bring into the house a branch of hawthorn or peacocks feathers
    3/ It is unlucky to make any change or new move on Saturday. Saturday's flit is a short sit.
    4/ If salt is spilt one is supposed to throw a bit across their right shoulder to take away the bad luck.
    5/ It is lucky to meet a white horse and if a girl counts them till she reaches one hundred the first man she meets after that may be her future husband.
    6/ It is unlucky for seven years if you break a looking-glass.
    7/ It is unlucky to walk under a ladder.
