fairy butter on the door of their dairies. When these people went to churn afterwards they could make no butter even though they churned all day. This went on for some time, but finally the neighbours heard of a fairy man who lived in Newtownbarry. This fairy man was suppose to have a churn to break the power of the witch.
He would go to a quichen berry tree, cut some switches off it, and plait them together into around ring. When this ring was put down over the dash of the churn it broke the witch's spell, and the butter came back with the churning once more.
