  1. About half a mile outside this village is situated the ruins of a beautiful house called Temora or Tig mór the big house.
    This house was the home of the Mc Cauleys and Barrats and some of the most important people of this locality. After the old families dying out of it, it was left vacant for a long period as it is haunted and nobody cared to live in it.
    My cousin chanced to housekeep for a doctor in it and she told us many strange happenings. It is said that a very wicked man lived there and after his death that his ghost annoyed people greatly. A tall man used to be met on the stairs and out on the hall door steps and everywhere throught the house. It is said that as time advanced someone told the priest and he put the spirit into a big dark room and there it remained for years.
    About 5 years ago this house was burnt to the ground and the people say that every night a huge ball of fire rises at the back of the house and goes over all the estate and that a wind arises and a man in priests clothes appears at the lodge gate.
    There is a little lodge going up to this house and a very strange story is told about it. It is said that
