    as a stable. He ordered his workmen to put straw there and house his pigs in the ruins. Two of them refused to do so,saying that they would not desecrate the church of god,where the Holy Sacrifice had been offered. The third men in order to keep his place,obeyed his master, and tradition says that he died shortly afterwards of a dreadful disease. The farmer met with an equally dreadful fate,and soon no trace of his family remained. Morette then fell into Catholic hands and the ruins and holy well were henceforward kept in good order.
