    We will long remember that wet September
    On wednesday 15th near ten at night
    When mid sobs and sighing our Pastor dying
    To God's holy kingdom his soul took flight
    There is no to Morrow that will quench the sorrow
    That hangs round Tintern and Coolroe
    For each heart is breaking since God has taking
    Our friend and Pastor Blessed Father Joe

    You have left the orphans without a father
    And the evicted tenants without a friend
    When the land agitation confused the nations
    He took us his station in freedoms train
    He denounced these grabbling leeches in all his speeches
    Did Fr Murphy from Coolamaine
