  1. It is said that if anybody gives away money or pays another person on the first Monday in January he or she will be giving it away the whole year after it because that Monday is said to be unlucky.
    Unlucky days to begin to reap on are, Tuesdays, and Fridays. It is said to be lucky to begin a job on Mondays, and Wednesdays.
    It is unlucky to kill any animal on Good Friday, because Our lord died on this day.
    It is unlucky to plant potatoes on the last week of March.
    There are three cross days in the year, the 16th of August. the 12th of May, the 11th of June.
    It is unlucky to sow wheat on a Friday. The wheat will not yield a good crop it it is sown on that day.
    It is unlucky to go to a new house on Saturday or if your did it would be the sign of a death.
