   man threshing with the flail. One of the croppies took up the flail and the soldiers thought he was a workman. The other croppy was shot before he could escape.
   Got from Tom Goodwin Kilmore, Kilcock.

   Tom Goodwin who is now aged about forty five says he often played pitch and toss with Yoemen's buttons marked with "M.B." of Meath Brigade.
   His grandfather fought at Tara 1798 and after the battle he harboured an Irishman in his house for six months who helped him to weave. They never found out who the Irishman was.

   Old Culmullan Graveyard is one of the oldest in Meath. It is oval in shape and is surround by a wall some feet in height. There was a chapel here long ago and there are traces still to be seen. The old stone holy water font is still in the graveyard and the people used it for sharpening hatchets. It is made
