    They drove to the church in turf cars, or in creels.
    The wedding party came first to the church, and they were the last to come home.
    They used to decorate the cars with white, and yellow papers.
    They would bring either money or some of their belongings with them.
    A piece of the wedding cake would be put under the bride's head, so she would dream.
    When the married party arrived home after their honeymoon, they would have a party, which was held until the following morning.
    One the day they were getting married the wore coloured paper hats.
    Both the bride and bridesmaid cut the wedding cake.
    During Shrove most of the marriages in the district take place.
    Sometimes nine or ten weddings take place on Shrove Tuesday.
    Money is given as a fortune nowadays, but long ago the girl that would be getting married usually got three or four cows or some stock for herself.
    It is said that one time the bridegroom came and stole the bride away in the dead of night and got married.
    The bride would not look at herself in the mirror when getting ready for the marriage.
    It was said that if you got married on a wet day, you
