  1. The old people used use the buttercup to dye white dresses. They plucked the petals from a great number of them, those they put into hot water for a half an hour with the dress until the water was yellow.
    They then took the petals from the water and boiled the dress in the same water for a few minutes.
    The hemlock which grows on all sorts of land is very dangerous if cattle eat it.
    The praiseach buidhe which grows where potatoes and turnips are sown, was used for food in the olden times.
