    and jumped upon the first ditch, and on to the passage,and then over the second ditch. Not so Mr. Meagher, he went at racing speed and jumped the whole lot and got safely over. That is a feat of horsemanship which takes some beating.
    Another feat was that of a young man who walked from Colemanswell to Cork and back. A distance of about seventy five miles in nine hours. It happened this way. The young man was chosen to play in a football match between Colemanswell and Garryfine. His people did not want him to play as he very rarely played in a match without causing a row. So they hit on the idea of sending him to Cork, thereby rendering it impossible for him to be at the match at the appointed time. He left for Cork at 5 a.m. and was back in Colemanswell at 2 p.m. just a few
