    with the Pound boys I always took delight.
    I am now in Denver city six thousand mile from home, passing away each lonely day when alas I'm all alone.
    Never did my blood run free since Denver I have seen.
    Or never shall I laugh with glee till I see that Isle so green
    Things are all not what they say: this world is but a show.
    These happy hours last but awhile and then I am left to mourn.
    I must take up my pen and bid you all adeau.
    No longer can I pass away an hour or two with you
