people say that if you bathe your eyes in it three times you will be cured of sore eyes.
St Connela lived in Doneraile where she built a chapel but it is now in Protestant hands.
The saint used to pray by the well. Once an old woman who was nearly blind asked the Saint to cure her. St. Connela told her to wash her eyes in the pool. When the old woman did so she was cured and ever since it is known to cure sore eyes.
The people say there was once a woman who took two pails of water from the well to wash clothes. When she tried to boil the water it would not boil, so she returned to the Spring and put the water back.
There is a small black fish seen in the waters of well at certain times of the year. Any person who is trying to be cured and sees the fish that person shall be cured instantly.
