- Arthur Hyde was the father of the T-Uachtaran Nuadh chosen by all the parties last week. This man is Douglas Hyde. A great Irish man despite the fact that he is a Protestant. This man's father lived at the far-famed spot Castle Hyde.
This Castle Hyde is a place near Fermoy and it is about 12 miles from Mallow. It stands on the banks of the Irish Rhine.

As I rode out one Summer's morning
Down by the banks of the Blackwater's
To view the groves and meadows charming
And the clear water's of Castle Hyde.
'Tis there you'd hear the thrushes warbling
The dove and partridge I now describe
The lambkins sporting each pleasant morning
For to adorn sweet Castle Hyde.

The grand improvements they would amuse you
And the trees are drooping with fruits of all kinds
The bees are filling the fields with music
