  1. This castle is situated in the town land of Caherivullan it is surrounded on all sides by bog. Tradition tells that it was once a splendid castle but little of its grandeur now remains. Most of the masony work has now been taken away by local farmers for the building of houses.
    An unfinished avenue of about 30 feet wide leads from the public road into it.
    The loads of stones that were fallen are still to be seen there undisturbed.
    A small portion of the ground surrounding this ruin seems to be tilled as it shows a green
