- (continued from previous page)with a large box put in the drunken crows got a cart & took them into the pound in Bandon. Came out & told Mr Baldwin where his crows were. Mr Baldwin released his crows & paid old Horgan well for the wheat & told the story everywhere of how the old smith outwitted him. This is a true story.
- Wakes are held on the dead, but few of the old customs are kept up. They are not carried out like any of the old ways in other parts.
