    to get married.
    Matches, which are common to this district, are introduced by some person who knows that a certain pair would make a suitable match. Money is given as a fortune.
    Marriages used to take place in the bride's home some 50 or 60 years ago, but now all marriages are solemnized in the Church.
    It is a custom to be invited, a few days before the wedding, to the marriage reception.
    On the day of the marriage, the bridegroom is supposed to enter the Church before the bride.
    When the newly - wed are leaving the Church they are sprinkled with rice or confetti, as a sign of good luck.
    It is a local custom not to go to Mass on the first Sunday after being married, if the pair are still in the district. But if they are on their honeymoon, they attend Mass.
