    What blissful thoughts of filial hours,
    When sorrow's pangs were few.
    Of days when I, a carefree boy,
    First scanned the mountain o'er.
    That towers so high 'tween earth and sky,

    Add enchantment to Macroom.
    And Mount Massey's flowery bonnet,
    To celestial heights doth soar,
