    of old scythes. It is said that the water the smith has cooling the irons would cure a cut on a horse by boiling it and washing the cut with it. Whenever any person in the townland where the smith lived killed a pig the smith claimed the head and kidneys. Some of the rich people used send the smiths money at Easter.
