But the man and four other men came to her house late at night and searched the house, and one of the men raised the lid off the churn and called the husband, and she got out and went away, and got married. Her parents were going to arrest the men, but the girl would not let them, and they lived happily ever after. Another girl was locked behind iron doors and the man came at night and smashed the door open.
- We have a curn in our home. It is about three and a half feet in height, and the bottom part of it is wider than the top. The churn is composed of a lid, a churn dash, and a cláibín.
We churn once and sometimes twice in the week. Before putting the milk into the churn, the churn is well washed, scrubbed and scalded in boiling water. The cream is then poured from the crocks into the churn . The churn-dash is put in, next the lid is put on, and lastly the cláibín. The sign(continues on next page) - Collector
