  1. A Story.
    There was a tinker a long number of years ago who used to go around this district mending Pots and Cans. His name was Pat Diver. One one occasion, after working all day at his trade, night overtook him on the road home. he knocked at several houses, asking for lodgings but was refused at every one. He made his way up to "Fort Johnston" and went into an old barn where there was some straw and he fell asleep. he was soon awakened by the sound of feet and saw four men carrying a corpse, enter the barn. They lighted a fire in the middle of the floor and
