    story connected with this fort. About forty years ago some young boys were playing round the fort. One of them named John Tivnan aged fourteen or fifteen years cut some whins in the fort. That night he got ill and died, and great crying was heard all over the fort that night. The people who were present at the wake were surprised at the aged appearance of the corpse, and said that it did not look like the boy Tivnan at all.
