- The Farland Bank was built in the year 1848, Old William Hegarty and his brother Tommy and all the rest are dead which was working at it. At that time there was no cars or bicycles and every one went about on horseback. This man was coming along through the Pound in Burt with the wages to the workmen when he was coming along he seen a man napping stones. When the old man was going home he found a bag of money this was one of the bags which was tied onto the horse. The old man lifted it and he took tt home to his sister(continues on next page)
