  1. A party of fishermen having no money to pay for their drink, went to an old woman who sold drink without a lisence, and demanded a drink from her. She had to comply with their wish. A neighbour on entering her room shortly after the departure of the fishermen heard her chanting strange charms to herself, as she sat wearing (weaving [?]) reeds in the corner. On being asked by the neighbour why she was behaving so strangely she replied, I have almost finished my weaving, and woe to them whose names I chanted while I weaved."
The party of fishermen were drowned that same night. It is believed that the woman cursed them because they refused to pay for their drink.
