   How Sally Noggin got its name. At one time there lived in a village an old woman. (The name of the village is known as 'Sally Noggin'.) The old woman was commonly known as 'Sally' and she was the sole owner of a public house. The woman was very much liked and she got great custom. In return for this she gave the men each a noggin of whisky or porter every Sunday. A few years later the old woman died but the villagers did not forget her kindness. In the course of years the villagers "nicknamed" the village as "Sally Noggin" and it is called Sally Noggin to this day. This is how Sally Noggin got its name. (Signed) J. McAllister J. Brennan.
