  1. The usual number of meals eaten in times gone by was three. Breakfast, dinner and supper. Stirabout was eaten for the breakfast, potatoes or "cally" which was called "Colcannon" for the dinner, and yellow meal stirabout for the supper, with a noggin of buttermilk.
