    In olden times people in this place were poor and they had no money to buy oil or candles so they made two kinds of candles themselves, to show them light by night. When an old sheep died she was skined, and the meat was given to the dogs to eat, and the fat was kept for making candles; this fat was put into a tin and heated by the fire until it melted into a liquid.
