  1. In olden times people also made cakes called boxty. First of all they got raw potatoes washed them and peeled them. When they had them peeled they scraped them into a pulp. This pulp was squeezed and the scraped potatoes were put out on a big dish. Then the people got more potatoes and they boiled them. When they were boiled they peeled them and put them into a basin and broke them with a bottle. When they had this done they put the raw potatoes through them and shook a little flour through them.
