  1. In olden times people burned lime-stone just as they do now. First of all they get a lot of turf in the bog and they bring it home on donkeys. After this they got lime-stone and break it into small bits with hammers. Then they put the turf and lime-stone into a kill and they burn it. They leave it burning for a whole day and a night. When it is burned they put it into barrels with shovels and they leave it there until they want it. It is used for white-washing houses and also for
