  1. A number of the women in this place make beautiful tweed out of the wool that grows on their own sheep. When the wool is taken off the sheep it is usually very dirty so the women take the kindest fleeces to a river and wash away all the dirt and then spread it out to dry. When the wool is perfectly dry it is teased and then oiled and after this it is carded with cards made for the purpose and then it is spun into thread with a spinning-wheel. The thread is wound up into balls and then it is warped. When the thread is warped it is sent
