    inhabitants of the locality, but the priest was not well acquainted with it, so he asked the young fellow McSweeney who accompanied him to show him the way. On the return journey across the fields the boy was in front leading, and looked back to see if Fr. Frawley was following. He saw a bush burning but took no further notice until the priest asked him if he saw anything. He said he saw a bush on fire, and the priest said it was not but the devil, and that when he went to the house first the devil was in it, and after a struggle he banished him; and that that was the devil again making a second attack but that he, the priest had got the better of him.
