  1. SONG: THE SULKY MARE
There was an Irish farmer and he had a sulky mare.
He brought her out to sell her at Enniscorthy Fair.
His son sure he went with him to praise the mare the best.
In the way that any buyer a trial he won’t request.
    II
He quickly met a buyer when going down the fair.
And he shouted to the owner “how much now for the mare?
I’m going to make an offer and I hope you won’t decline.
I’ll give you eleven guineas and the mare she will be mine.”
    III
The bargain it was finished and he took the mare away.
In a stable in a backyard he rented for the day.
He clipped the mare all over and he docked her mane and tail.
And in less than twenty minutes she was on the fair again.
