    Once more to try for victory’s laurels, the best bloods then got up.
    The height of their ambition was to quaff the harriers cup.
    \T|he trumpeter he blew the blast, as loud as ocean swell.
    But when the winning post was reached, The shout was for Gazzell.

    T’was good to see the betting men, look up the breed that day.
    The whisper went along the boards, you’d hear each ‘bookie’ say.
    Tormenter in the olden days has given us a sell.
    Be careful how you lay your odds, be sure and shun Gazzell.
    VI
    And Cappagh still holds racing blood, as good as in the past.
    And future horses fit to nail, their colours to the mast.
    A cheer for old Tormenter, for she deserves it well,
    And many a ringing cheer will greet, the future of Gazzell.
