  1. When St. Patrick came to Roscomon a wealthy pagan invited him to a feast. Patrick went to the house and found all kinds of food on the table for his coming.
The pagan had a servant girl and she was a christian and liked Patrick very well.
This pagan was a traitor, and he had the food he prepared for Patrick poisined.
The first thing the maid left down was a large stout herring and when she was leaving it down to Patrick she said "Musha my seven loves ti the fish that was never caught for his appetite."
Patrick understood what she said and without eating or drinking he fled from the house.
