    "Puss Sunday" falls on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, and all the people who are not married are supposed to have a "puss."

  2. There are many superstitions in this locality.
    If a person was going on a journey and to meet a magpie he is supposed to have good luck and if he meets two he will have bad luck
    If a person were going on a journey to a fair and to meet a red haired woman it was supposed to be a sign of bad luck, many men who meet such people often turns back from their journey.
    These superstitions were handed down to us by the older generations
