  1. The local fairs held in Meath are in Navan, Kells, Trim, Athboy, Oldcastle and Crossakiel. Fairs were always held in these towns.
    In former times fairs used to be held in Kilskyre, but are since done away with. The reason why they were done away with is not known.
    The fair of Athboy is held in the fair green and on the streets. When an animal is sold, luck money is always given. "Luck Penny" it is called. When a bargain is made the only way they show
