  1. There was a man by name of Connley and he bought a plantation about 35 years ago on the other side of the road from Roskey Lake. One day he was bringing some of the good trees across the lake by towing them behind a boat and the chains with which he had the trees tied got loosened and one of the trees slipped into the lake and it sank to the bottom of the lake and ever since when the lake rises it rises it rises and when it is low it goes down too.
