    This is generally called the "tiens".
    Each year a branch of blessed palm is put up at the door of the cow-house, in order to have luck for the following year. If a calf is born on Whit week his ear is always cut to prevent him from being cross.
    After a calf is born a handful of manure is put into the cows mouth, so that the milk cannot be taken from the cow by a stranger.
    One time a woman was able to take the milk from a certain cow, and after the cow calved she went to take the milk, but as the manure had been put in the cows mouth
