    Who the blazes was there playing the rakes of Kildare
    but poor Denny Byrne the piper
    Tim gave a bout like a half broken coult
    and Denny he looked like a gomack
    He said "by the power I thought these eight hours
    you were swimming through the "drim" of the stomack.
    Now since we met our whistles we'll wet
    like devils we'll dance round the piper
