    I found a ripe strawberry to-day.
    2. The iron commonly used now by country people is shaped like no. 1. but large and hollow to contain a heater. It is very heavy to use, but cleaner than no. 1.
    Some few persons use a charcoal Iron.
    The town folk use either electric or gas irons, which are a wonderful boon to a hard-worked housekeeper.
    "Grisset" = made of iron [?]metal[?], handle and pan, handle 6 inches long.

    Pan would hold about a pint.
    Sits on 3 legs.
    [?] sketch [?] = 9 inches long. Handle is attached to the side at its widest part.
    The bottom is not curved like our pots, but forms a slight ridge till it begins to curve to the ends at top. When "dip" candles were used, the grease was melted in this vessel, for the purpose of dipping the "candles"? This vessel was also used to melt lead for the making of shot. Very heavy.
