As I looked over garden wall.
I heard an old man let a loud call,
His mouth was long, his mouth was beardy, And such a man was never born.no.4
She was but an only lady
she lived in a lonely garden.
she was but a poor man's child,
and died before she was born.no.5
Through the rock. through the reel
Through an old spinning wheel.
Through a mill hooper, through a bag of peppers,
Through an old shim sham bone,
