  1. I heard of a great singer named Philip Connelly who lived in Aughadreena. He was a tall, straight man. He used to sing a number of songs, but his favourites were, "Michael Dwyer"
    "The men of the west" and "the slaney side". He used to sing at concerts and dances, but he would not go far away. He was a good dancer as well as a good singer. I did not hear when he died, but I know he is dead a good number of years. He was regarded as the best singer in Aughadreena.
